Some of the work on this site was built for organisations that could not have paid for it. That is not charity dressed up as a case study: an NGO running on a spreadsheet has the same problems as a company running on one, and usually less room to get them wrong. This page says who qualifies, what they get, and what I will not take in exchange.
Registered non-profits and NGOs, at no cost. Educational institutions at reduced rates, where the work benefits students directly rather than an administration. Early-stage teams on terms that fit a runway, which usually means a smaller scope rather than a smaller invoice.
No equity. No revenue share. No commission, referral fee or any other money moving in either direction beyond an agreed reduced rate. No partnership, and no arrangement where I act on your behalf.
This matters more than the free work does. The moment free build time is attached to a stake in the organisation, it stops being help and starts being an investment with an unclear contract. Nothing here creates a legal partnership or an agency relationship.
Proof that the organisation is registered, a short letter on the organisation’s behalf asking for access, and a contact who can make decisions about the project. The letter is not a formality. It is how I know the request comes from the organisation rather than from one enthusiastic person inside it.
The same work anyone else would get, and the repository and deployment at the end of it. What free does not buy is unlimited scope or a deadline: paid work is what pays for this, so it goes first when the two collide. If that is not workable for your timeline, say so early and I will tell you honestly whether to wait or to look elsewhere.
Use the Upwork and say what the organisation is, what it does, and the specific thing that is currently broken or missing. I will ask for the registration proof and the letter in the reply.
There is no email address and no contact form on this site. Client work runs through Upwork, whose terms restrict exchanging direct contact details off the platform, so the Upwork profile is the way in. The contract and the payment live there too.
