A newsroom needs two things most publishing software makes you trade against each other: publish quickly, and rank. Server rendering settled it. Pages arrive complete, so a crawler is not waiting on JavaScript to find the article and the reader on a slow connection sees text rather than a spinner. That came before any editorial feature, because retrofitting it later means rewriting the front end. There is an assistant for the drafting stages. It suggests and it does not publish, and the guardrail is that it never has that permission in the first place.
